For the duration of Rena Katz participatory performance “love takes the worry out of being close: public assemblies in bed with queers”, Salas documented the encounters among participants using a mechanic typewriter in the form of a stream-of-consciousness narrative. The typing sounds constantly reminded the participants that they were being recorded which -might have affected/influenced- their inputs. This action recalls by non-consensual -in most cases, hidden camera, raw and unedited cell phone recordings of sex on public washrooms increasingly popular online in which the videos themselves remind us of the normalization of unchecked policing and surveillance.‚Äč
